OECD | netFWD: Philanthropy and the global development agenda: The policy connector

Synopsis

'Philanthropy and the global development agenda: The policy connector' takes place on 24 March 2023 in Paris and explores the opportunity for the OECD Network of Foundations Working for Development (netFWD) to build further on its role of connector for supporting its members' joint advocacy and policy connections. The session invites including Cillian Nolan, director of policy, the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), Amélie de Montchalin, French Ambassador to the OECD and Denis Mizne, CEO, Lemann Foundation to discuss how to facilitate the participation of philanthropy in global policy forums such as COP28, with a particular focus on how to include voices from the South.

The panel forms part of 2023 netFWD annual meeting 'Addressing the climate emergency - what role for philanthropy ahead of COP28?' taking place on March 23 and 24 2023 at the OECD Conference Centre in Paris. The annual meeting brings together senior representatives of foundations and OECD experts to discuss the major challenges brought about by climate change and how foundations are responding to them, and reflect on the outcomes of the COP27 from the perspective of developing countries. The event programme will also consider how climate change adaptation and mitigation intersects with the OECD netFWD's work across health, education and gender equality.
