Masterpieces: Stairway to Heaven film screening

The Royal Collection Trust hosts a screening of 'Stairway to Heaven', which tells the remarkable story of the minbar of Saladin, the sacred pulpit, from its creation amid the turbulence of the Crusades, through its triumphal installation in the al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem, its subsequent tragic destruction and the long struggle towards its eventual re-creation and restoration. Narrated by Kenneth Branagh, it opens a window onto the fascinating world of Islamic art and probes the many layers of meaning that lie beneath the surface.
