Amna Fatani
Former Associate Director, Strategy (2018 - 2022)
From 2018 to 2022, Amna Fatani was the Associate Director of Strategy for Community Jameel, an independent, global organisation advancing science and learning for communities to thrive. Amna oversaw the development of a wide variety of projects, in the areas of education, health, climate, and evidence, working with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Imperial College London and other strategic partners. With over a decade of experience in the international development field, Amna led the organisation's work in curating social programmes that are designed for impact and driven by local voices and needs. She also managed the Community Jameel internship programme.
Amna's expertise is in development economics and management consulting with hands-on experience in research, impact evaluations and strategy development. Prior to joining Community Jameel, Amna worked at McKinsey & Company, where she developed expertise in Economic Development, Labour Markets and Education. She also worked with the World Bank, Save the Children US and the Saudi Ministry of Labour (since merged into the Ministry of Human Resource and Social Development). In 2010, she co-founded an education organisation with a primary focus on building curricula and delivering educational programmes to youth, reaching over 2,000 young people in Saudi Arabia. She also consulted with a non-profit organisation in Mexico, where she delivered strategic insights and on-the-ground training workshops to their staff and beneficiaries.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from King Abdulaziz University, and a Master's degree in international development from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. Amna has advanced proficiency in English and Arabic, and conversational Spanish.
